BIOGRAPHY
Noel Freeman has been
dedicated to public service since he joined the United
States Air Force at the age of 19, and now he plans to apply
that dedication to the City of Houston as an at-large member
of its city council.
Noel's reason for running for
the council seat is his love of Houston and a desire to see
it grow and prosper through
long-term
planning, economic and community development and capital
improvement.
An employee of Houston’s Public
Works and Engineering Department, Noel has extensive
knowledge of Houston’s infrastructure – and the public
concerns about Houston’s future development. He will bring
that knowledge to his city council position.
Noel's
past public service has
included constituent service work for the district office of
Congressman John Culberson and serving the National Archives
and Records Administration at the George Bush Presidential
Library and Museum at Texas A&M University.
He
began his military career as a
target entity analyst for the National Security Agency.
Later he served as command and control warfare analyst for
the Air Force Information Warfare Center and as chief of
training for the Air Intelligence Agency Headquarters Honor
Guard. In addition to the National Security Agency and Air
Intelligence Agency, Noel served on deployments and short
assignments to Korea, White Sands, New Mexico and San Diego,
California. He was named the Air Force Information Warfare
Center’s Airman of the Year for 1999. His awards include an
Air Force Commendation Medal, two Air Force Achievement
Medals, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding
Volunteer Service Medal, Basic Military Training Honor
Graduate and Distinguished Graduate of the Air Force Signals
Intelligence Analysis Program.
Following
his military service, Noel
enrolled in Texas A&M University, where he earned a Bachelor
of Science degree in political science and served as a cadet
squadron commander and special assistant to the Commandant
of the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets.
Noel
lives in the Historic Houston
Heights and is a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Community.
He also counsels families as a funeral service professional
for Service Corporation International.
